What is a Nordic Campus?

Although there are many different descriptions of what a campus exactly entails, Nordic Campus uses its own definition.

A campus consists of the entire area where educational programs, student activities and student housing are facilitated. In addition, the campus offers space to companies and/or organizations that have an interest in intensive collaboration with the educational institutions housed there. The area therefore consists of both (public) outdoor spaces and indoor spaces, including infrastructure such as meeting places, bicycle sheds and parking spaces.

The Nordic Campus formula helps with the design of these spaces by providing structure and coherence for all parties that use the campus. Where the curriculum of the educational options determines the educational program, the Nordic Campus formula provides the ideal context for that program in relation to the location and its stakeholders. The Nordic Campus formula creates a physical and mental platform on which the various parties can achieve their own objectives.
