What is a Nordic Campus?
Although there are many different descriptions of what exactly a campus entails, Nordic Campus uses its own definition.
A campus comprises the entire area where educational programs, student activities, and student housing are facilitated. In addition, the campus offers space to companies and/or organizations that benefit from intensive collaboration with the educational institutions located there. The area therefore comprises both (public) outdoor spaces and indoor spaces, including infrastructure such as meeting places, bicycle parking, and parking.
The Nordic Campus approach helps design these spaces by providing structure and coherence for all parties using the campus. While the curriculum of the educational programs determines the educational program, the Nordic Campus approach provides the ideal context for that program in relation to the location and its stakeholders. Thus, the Nordic Campus approach creates a physical and mental platform on which the various parties can achieve their own objectives.
