Vitality Trail
It seems like the new trend in 2023 is 'being busy'.
Busy schedules, overtime, sleepless nights… It all seems normal. We live in a society that demands a lot from us. There's immense pressure to see and compare the achievements of others. At school, at work, and in our personal lives. That's why it's important to focus on your own vitality and keep working on it. The Vitality Trail contributes to the optimal yet accessible way to focus on your own vitality at and around the Nordic Campus. From 'being on' to 'getting going!'
Being busy no longer impresses. Constantly being on the go takes a lot of energy. You're in a constant race mode with no time for pauses, reflection, or evaluation. Take your mind off autopilot and switch off completely on the offline route, or simply enjoy some exercise on the online route of the Vitality Trail.
Nordic Campus Connect has developed the Vitality Trail into two concepts to get students moving. After extensive research into social trends and developments, we arrived at the following concepts:
The overall distinguishing feature of this Nordic Vitality Trail Leeuwarden.
New York has the highline and Leeuwarden has the ON-LINE and the OFF-LINE!
- The online portion of the trail is actually very vibrant. With exercises along the way, lots of activity and activities, and regular events
- The ON-LINE stimulates the senses and turns you 'completely on'
- On the ON-LINE you actually use your phone to look up the exercises
- OFF-LINE as a framework for the trail's development. There will be no advertising along the way, and the noise from traffic and machinery will be minimized as much as possible, thanks to features like noise-reducing planting
- Path of Knowledge: truly disconnect between classes or before/after to clear your head. This will benefit your academic performance. Leave your phone at home on this part of the trail!
- Space for relaxation and exertion. Staying in balance
On-Line & Off-line
- Experience the seasons because the path looks different in each season (e.g. tree blossoms in spring, bee borders in summer, autumn colours and winter blooms – so no evergreen that looks the same all year round!)
- You experience Frisian culture in a natural way through what you encounter along the way (landmarks and statements).
- Matching the BrandValues of the Nordic Campus
To determine the look of the elements along the ON-LINE and OFF-LINE routes, we considered the style chosen by the municipality of Leeuwarden for its street furniture, sustainability, and long-standing trends. Based on this research, we arrived at the style we call "urban natural." The furniture along the ON-LINE and OFF-LINE routes will be designed in this style.
